Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 2026
We respect your privacy. This site uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics, Google Fonts to improve visual presentation, Cloudflare-hosted form services to collect user submissions, and Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our forms from spam and automated abuse. By using this site, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. For questions, contact us via [email protected].
Information We Collect
- Anonymous Usage Data: Collected through Google Analytics (e.g., page views, events, browser type, and IP address). Analytics runs by default to measure site traffic, and a small ad-measurement cookie runs by default too, so we can tell which ads led to a pledge – this never includes ad personalization or remarketing. If you decline, we set no analytics or ad cookies and send only anonymous, cookieless measurement to Google. You can turn analytics off at any time using the control in “Analytics Preferences” below.
- User-Provided Data: Information you voluntarily submit through our forms (e.g., name, email, or other form fields). Our forms send that information through Cloudflare to our contact system. During our CRM transition, Qomon may receive a copy as a downstream contact processor.
- Fonts: Website fonts are served from our own site rather than loaded from a third-party font service.
- Bot Protection: Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans apart from bots. When you load a page with a form, Cloudflare may process technical details about your browser and your IP address to make that call. Turnstile is not an advertising tool, and we do not use it to track you across other sites.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the website and its features
- Improve site functionality and user experience
- Respond to inquiries submitted through our forms
- Monitor site traffic and usage trends through Google Analytics
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers. We share it only as described in this policy.
- Our affiliated 501(c)(4). We may rent our contact list to Humans in Control Action Incorporated, which may contact you about updates, events, advocacy, elections, fundraising, and volunteering. Both organizations honor unsubscribe requests.
- Service providers. We share information with service providers that help us operate the site and process forms, including Google, Qomon, and Cloudflare.
Cookies and Tracking
We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and which ads led to a pledge. Both the traffic-measurement cookie and a basic ad-measurement cookie run by default; we never use them for ad personalization or remarketing. If you decline, or use the control in “Analytics Preferences” below, we set no cookies and send only anonymous, cookieless measurement to Google. We honor Global Privacy Control, so if your browser sends that signal we never set any advertising cookies.
Analytics Preferences
Google Analytics runs by default so we can measure site traffic. Use the button below to turn it off in this browser. When it is off, we set no analytics cookies and send only anonymous, cookieless measurement to Google.
This setting is stored in your browser. If you clear your cookies and site data, or switch to another browser, you’ll need to set it again. We do not store this setting on any server.

Third-Party Links
Our site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites.
Meta and Reddit Ad Pixels
We use the Meta Pixel and the Reddit Pixel on our action pages to measure ad performance for HIC campaigns.
- Scope. These pixels do NOT load on the homepage, About, Policy, How to Help, Privacy, or other context pages. They only load on action pages, such as the pledge and petition pages.
- What Meta and Reddit receive when a pixel loads: the page URL, the referring page, your browser and device info, your IP address, and a cookie identifier (
_fbpfor Meta,_rdt_uuidfor Reddit). If you submit a form or take a contact action on one of those pages, they also receive the name of the action (e.g.Lead,CompleteRegistration,SignUp,Contact) and an event identifier. - What Meta and Reddit do NOT receive. The pixels do not transmit your email, phone number, name, ZIP, address, or message content. We have turned off the settings on both platforms (called Advanced Matching) that would otherwise share that data.
- See Meta's Data Policy and Reddit's Privacy Policy for how they use this information.
You have three ways to opt out:
- Use the “Opt out of ad pixels” button in the next section. One button covers both pixels.
- Enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. We honor GPC by default.
- Use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer (which scrolls to the next section).
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers. The Meta and Reddit pixels may be considered “sharing” under some state privacy laws. Use the button below to stop both pixels from loading in this browser.
This setting is stored in your browser. If you clear your cookies and site data, or switch to another browser, you’ll need to opt out again. We do not store this setting on any server.
